Reyes Hernandez

Reyes D. Hernandez of Uvalde passed away on December 17, 2008 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 87. He was born on December 5, 1921 in Musquiz, Mexico to Juan Jose and Maria Hernandez. He married Maria De Carmen De La Rosa Menchaca on June 17, 1944 in Musquiz, Mexico. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Maria Hernandez of Uvalde, Texas; two daughters; Minerva Garcia and husband, Francisco of Houston, Texas; and Maria de Jesus Gonzales of Eagle Pass, Texas; two sons; Hector David Hernandez and wife, Maria of Casa Grande, Arizona; and Irineo Hernandez of Houston, Texas; six sisters; Amalia Hernandez, Alicia Hernandez, Ofelia Hernandez, and Nena Hernandez all of Musquiz, Mexico; Maria De La Luz Lerma and Carolina Valdez both of Uvalde, Texas; two brothers; Jose Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas; and Enrique Hernandez of Cleburne, Texas; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Reynaldo Hernandez; one brother; Salvador Hernandez; and two sisters; Virginia Lozano and Carmen Hernandez. A rosary will be held on Friday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial following in Hillcrest Cemetery.BRBR
