Reynaldo Galvan

Mr. Reynaldo Angel "Rey" Galvan of Uvalde passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Main Methodist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 58. Mr. Galvan was born on October 20, 1957 in Lubbock to Juanita (Flores) and Tadeo Galvan. Rey attended school in Mercedes, Texas. Rey worked numerous jobs before working at Sierra Industries in Uvalde for eleven years.
Mr. Galvan married Josefa Najar on December 16, 2006 in Uvalde. Rey is survived by his wife, Josefa N. Galvan; two stepdaughters, Rosa Mason and husband Michael of Batesville and Cynthia N. Vasquez of Dallas; three stepsons, Tivurcio Vasquez, Jr. of Uvalde, Jose Vasquez of Bryan, Ohio and Dan N. Vasquez of San Antonio; three sisters, Carolina Anciso and husband Juan of Zacatal, Gloria Duenas and husband Noe of Mercedes and Rosa Contreras and husband Juan of Weslaco; three brothers, Tadeo Galvan, Jr. and wife Alicia of Mercedes, Juan Galvan and wife Aiza of La Villa and Jesus Galvan of Weslaco; three stepsisters, Aurora Pineda of Weslaco, Elida Bocanegra of Weslaco and Maximinia Galvan of Hebbronville; stepbrother Gilberto Gomez and wife Oralia of Mercedes; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rene Galvan and nephew J.R. Anciso.
Rey was known as a very kind hearted man who was friendly, funny, easy going, and gentle. He enjoyed spending time with his family, loved ones and numerous friends. Rey enjoyed fishing, 70's music, watching television, bar-b-queing and spending time with his pets.
A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 and Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at Templo Cristiano with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Butch Vasquez, Michael Mason, Adam Vasquez, Noe Duenas, Bobby Anciso, Juan Urina and Ricky Angelo Medina Casares.
