Ricarda Hernandez of Batesville passed away on March 17, 2018 at Amistad Nursing Home in Uvalde at the age of 93. She was born on February 17, 1925 in Flatonia, Texas to Pedro Tovar and Angelita Gonzalez. She married Eudelio Hernandez in Dilley, Texas in 1944.
She is survived by her daughters, Alicia Littleton of Florida, Juanita H. Uballe, Ebelia Rodriguez both of Batesville and Arcelia Ramirez of Florida; sons, Roman Hernandez, Sr. of Florida and Julio Hernandez of Batesville; 27 grandchildren; 110 great grandchildren; 48 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Beatrice Rodriguez, Julia Villanueva, Margarita Botello, Adelia Arellano and Leodora Tovar; brothers, Alvino Tovar, Pedro Melchor, Rey Tovar and Cayetano Melchor; grandchildren, Yvonne Bustamante, David Rodriguez, Jr., Angelita Hernandez, Dora Elda Hernandez, Maria Deborah Hernandez, Julian Hernandez, Gerard Hernandez, Enrique Hernandez, and Baby Boy Hernandez.
A prayer service will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Templo Hermosa in Batesville, Texas. Burial will follow at Batesville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jr. Jewels, Mike Mendez, Zachary Mustgrove, Jesus Vasquez, Armando Sambrano and Alvin Rios
