Ricardo Ortiz

Ricardo Ortiz of Uvalde passed away on January 11, 2018 at his residence at the age of 40. He was born on October 5, 1977 in Uvalde to Pedro and Yolanda (Ramos) Ortiz.

He is survived by his companion, Rachel Melendez of Uvalde; son, Matthew Ortiz of Uvalde; step daughters, Santa Melendez, Valerie Ybarra, Elizabeth Ybarra, Evelyn Ybarra, Krisanta Melendez all of Uvalde; stepson, Juan Pablo Ybarra, Jr. of Uvalde; sisters, Yolanda Ortiz Flores and husband, Robert, Rose Mary Ortiz, Carolina Ortiz and Brenda Esparza all of Uvalde; brothers, Pete Ortiz and wife, Rita and David Ortiz all of Uvalde; grandson, Tyler James Holguin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
