Richard Cardenas

Richard Cardenas of Hondo passed away at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio on April 23, 2016 at the age of 66. Mr. Cardenas was born on September 7, 1949 to Odulia (Talamantez) and Adan Cardenas. He is survived by his wife Carol Mae Cardenas; four daughters, Becky Cardenas Salazar of Lubbock, Sandra Marie Cardenas of San Antonio, Nancy Cardenas and husband Marco Cahue of Hondo, and Stacie Janalle Cardenas of Hondo; son, Richard Rene Cardenas of San Antonio; two sisters, Diana Perez and Yolanda Morales both of Illinois; brother, Eddie Ramirez of Kerrville; granddaughters, Kathy Denise Cardenas and Audrey Mae Salazar of San Antonio as well as numerous grandchildren and cousins. Mr. Cardenas was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Esperanza Ortega Cardenas. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 and Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Cardenas, Jaime Requejo, Marco Cahue, William Nokes, Eric Martin and Gabriel Ramirez.
