Rigoberto Cervantes passed away on September 2, 2016 at the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center at the age of 72. He was born on January 25, 1944 in San Ignacio de la Sierra Tepehuanes, Durango, Mexico to Manuel Cervantes and Maria Cervantes. He married Ana Maria Rodriguez on August 29, 1969 in Uvalde, Texas.
He is survived by his daughters; Marisa Cervantes and husband Conrad Longoria of Uvalde, Connie De Leon and husband Isaul of Eagle Pass; son, Rigoberto Cervantes Jr. of Uvalde; sisters, Laura Aguilera of Chicago, Maria Cervantes of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico; brothers, Natividad Cervantes, Jesus Cervantes, Jose Cervantes and Ponciano Cervantes all of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico; grandchildren, Kristina Belman, Pete Belman, Orlando Belman, Denise Belman, Randy Belman, Ricky Benavidez, Gabriela Gonzales, Alex Vasquez, Stephenie De Leon, Isaulito De Leon, Rigoberto Cervantes III, and Bianca Cervantes; great grandchildren, Samantha Pichardo, Bryson Belman, Alazay Cervantes and Karli Wagner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents and brother, Jose Angel Cervantes.
Visitation will start on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
