R. L. Montgomery, Jr.

R.L. Montgomery, Jr. of Uvalde passed away on July 13, 2019 at Riverview Nursing Home in Boerne at the age of 81.  He was born on October 10, 1937 in Pearsall to Arma Lynn (Zerre) and R.L. Montgomery, Sr.  He is survived by a daughter, Diane Kuykendall of Georgetown; three sons, Larry Montgomery of Knippa, Greg Montgomery of Del Rio, and R.L. Montgomery III of Victoria; sister, Melba Huffman of Tyler; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lillian Davis; second wife, Janie Montgomery; and two sons, Chuck Montgomery and Jesse Montgomery.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  Private family burial in Hillcrest Cemetery will follow.  Pallbearers will be Patrick Montgomery, Joseph Montgomery, Levi Montgomery, Nathan Montgomery, Jason Montgomery, Wyatt Montgomery, Pete Garcia, Jessie Kuykendall, and Troy Gonzalez.
