Robert Dale Bukoviny

Robert (Bob) Dale Bukoviny, 80, of Del Rio, Tx, formerly of Uvalde, died on December 18, 2023 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.

He was born on September 20, 1943 in Uvalde, Texas to Joseph Julius Bukoviny and Connie Ruth (Norrid) Bukoviny. 

Bob grew up and attended his school days in Uvalde. He was a proud member of a group he referred to as "The Magnificent Five'': Ronnie Bird (Surfing Bird), Larry Oliver (Raccoon), Jimmy Surber (Chickenhawk), Chris Carper (Christian), and Bob, himself (Buck the Nut). A group of life-long friends that enlivened the streets of Uvalde. 

Bob worked for Gold Star Exterminators in Del Rio for 31 years until his passing. He took pride in his work and his coworkers were like family. 

Bob had a love for Christ that he shared with others. He was one of a kind and no one was ever a stranger to him. He was a kindhearted cut-up known for his great stories and jokes. He had a passion for old cars, especially Studebakers. He spent many hours refurbishing one to mint condition that he just happened to discover in a backyard in Del Rio, Tx. Luckily, the owner was all too ready to get off his hands. It was Bob's pride and joy. He and Suzanne enjoyed cruising around in it until it was sold to a collector in England.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Ava Anderson, Audrey Richey, Amy Stoner (Gil), Ginger Bukoviny, and Amy Semenza (Gabe); sisters Lee Anne Bukoviny Muecke and husband Leroy of Kendalia and Carole Bukoviny Allen of Seguin; grandchildren Brady Vercher (Ali), Brody Vercher (Vanessa), Jenna Abbott (Jeremy), Sidney Richey Paulukaitis (Daniel), and Parker Semenza; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Our family is grateful to know that he is at peace and has joined his beloved wife Suzanne who passed away on December 2, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held February 3, 2024 at 2pm at the Service/NCO club at Fort Clark Springs in Brackettville, Tx.
