Robert Lee (Bob) Gibson, Jr., 91 of Uvalde died on December 15, at Uvalde Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 13, 1927 in Junction, TX to Ina Merle (Spence) and Robert Lee Gibson, Sr.
He was a member of the South Getty St. Church of Christ for 70 years.
A graveside service will be held at Uvalde Cemetery, Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Tim Myers & Greg Fry officiating.
He married Mary Lou Fry on October 14, 1946 in Uvalde, who preceded him in death on September 19, 2016.
He is survived by his daughters, Karen Tidwell and Sharon Snow of Uvalde; grandchildren, Cindy Motley and husband, Jeff, Everett Ogburn and wife, Nicole, Glenda Snow, Randy Snow all of Uvalde, Christy Price and husband, David of Brackettville and Rollie Lee Snow and wife, Karyn of San Antonio. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Jeyson & Kaili Price, Brianna, Morgan, Alyson, Evelynn and Rollie Snow, Jr., Trinity and Faith Ogburn and Peyton Motley whom he loved and adored greatly. He is also survived by his brother and sister in laws, Haldon Fry and wife, Ruby of Uvalde, Mary Jean Fry of Goldthwaite, TX and Chester Foster of Abilene.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son in law Roy Snow.
Robert was drafted into the US Army while still in high school. He served his country at Fort Dix, New Jersey and was on his way overseas when the war ended. Upon returning home he furthered his education by finishing high school, took business courses and trained to become a draftsman. He was hired by the Texas Highway Department in Uvalde where he worked for 38 years. After retirement his days were filled with church and family activities.
