Robert Gonzalez

Robert T. Gonzalez of Uvalde passed away on January 23, 2018 at Amistad Nursing Home in Uvalde at the age of 86. He was born on September 6, 1931 in Uvalde to Florentino and Anita (Talamantez) Gonzalez. He married Lilia T. Gonzalez in Uvalde on July 12, 1953.
He worked for the Coca Cola Company for over 20 years, was a US Army Veteran, member of the Texas State Guard and a crossing guard for the Uvalde Police Department at Robb Elementary for many years
He is survived by his daughter, Dora Leos of Uvalde; sons, Aldo T. Gonzalez and wife, Prescilla of Austin and Robert T. Gonzalez, Jr. and wife, Cynthia of Uvalde; grandchildren, Ivan Leos, Jennifer Rangel, Jessica Rodriguez, Belicia Gonzalez, Lorena Gonzalez, Joaquin Gonzalez, Robert Gonzalez, III, and Diego Gonzalez; great grandchildren Lily Leos, Orlando Casteneda, Bianca Rodriguez, Lilliana Rodriguez, Diego Rangel, Luke Rangel and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sisters, Mary Zamora and Margaret Pace and brother, Charles Elizondo.
A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joaquin Gonzalez, Roberto Gonzalez, III, Ivan Leos, Jerry Behm, Zachary Echavirria and Hilario Ramirez.
