alignleftRobert Shields Bobby Huebner was born in Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas on July 30, 1951 to Verna Mae Shields Dixon and Ernest A. Al Huebner. His early years were spent in Beaumont, Texas later moving to Rose City in 1967. He graduated from Vidor High School in 1970, and from La Mar University in 1975 with a BA in History. He married Connie Cochran in 1976 and they had three children, Christopher Shields, Scott Thomas and Lauren Michelle.
alignleftHis current employer is Maverick International, of Beaumont, Texas. He was a sales Representative selling high pressure remote controlled valves for the oil and natural gas industry. He formerly worked for Dresser Industries of Houston and Nelson Supply of Beaumont.
alignleft He was an avid golfer, playing with family and friends alike on many courses in Texas and elsewhere. He enjoyed spending time in Utopia, on a Ranch owned by his family since 1976. Prior to that, he enjoyed the Thomas Ranch hunting lease that was just west of the present 7-H Ranch property
alignleftHe is survived by his three children, one granddaughter Holly Renee Nikula, sister Edith Ann Rooney of Ruidosa, NM; brothers Jack of Lumberton, TX; Jim and wife Bekki of Spicewood, TX; and Don and wife Lora of Bridge City, TX; step-brother Martin LaFrance and wife Kelli of San Antonio, TX; step-sister Andrea Hiughs of Hondo, TX; his parents E.A. Al and Judy Huebner of Utopia and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
alignleftHe was preceded in death by his mother Verna Mae and grandparents Ernest A. and Winifred Huebner and Vernon and Lilly May Shields.
alignleft Bobby has been described as a class act. He was always willing to help in a crisis, he was not quick to anger. He enjoyed the company of his Brennan and Rossman cousins and they associated often. Big Buck Bobby enjoyed guiding a family hunter to a big deer so that they enjoy the accolades of the day. It was pure pleasure to watch his face glow with the thrill of their success.
