Roberto Alvarez

Roberto P. Alvarez of Uvalde passed away on June 7, 2009 in Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 76. He was born on December 18, 1932 in Guanajato Coahuila, Mexico to Gregorio and Juanita Alvarez. He married Rosa Rangel on August 18, 1987 in Uvalde, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 21 years Rosa Rangel of Uvalde, Texas; one son Gregorio Alvarez of Dallas, Texas; two sisters; Maria Del Refugio Hernandez of Uvalde, Texas and Victoria Alvarez of Mexico; three brothers; Lorenzo Lencio Alvarez and Jesus Alvarez both of Mexico; and Marcelino Alvarez of Uvalde, Texas; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and first wife, Asuncion Alonzo. A rosary will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
