Roberto Cruz

Roberto S. Cruz of San Antonio formerly of La Pryor passed away at his residence at the age of 78. He was born on August 8, 1937 in La Pryor, Texas to Frederico and Aurora (Salazar) Cruz. He married Maria Martha Perez in La Pryor on December 27, 1958. He is survived by his daughters, Martha Ruiz and Loli Mata both of San Antonio; son, Bobby Cruz; sister, Alicia Martinez of La Pryor; 7 grandchildren, Ceasar Cruz, Joshua Ruiz, Laura Ruiz, Thelicia Mata, Thelia Mata, Thelira Mata and Taylor Lovato-Cruz; 3 great grandchildren, Audrey Cruz, Lauren Cruz, and Leland Cruz; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents and brother, Fred Cruz.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at La Pryor Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Fernando Gonzalez, Gary Perez, Carlos Ortegon, Joe Ortegon, Jesse Ortegon and John Ortegon.
