Roberto Ibarra Sanchez

Roberto Ibarra Sanchez, 71, of Uvalde passed away on October 31, 2024, at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital in San Antonio. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. 

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. 

He was born on November 29, 1952, in Allende Coahuila, Mexico, to Guadalupe (Ibarra) and Alfredo Sanchez. 

He married Maricela Zamora on May 15, 2019, in Piedras Negras, Mexico. 

He is survived by his wife of five years of Uvalde; mother-in-law, Olivia Vasquez of Piedras Negras, Mexico; three daughters, Anna Sanchez and companion, Roger Soriano of Houston, Melissa Ortez and companion, Diego Guzman of Houston and Griselda Sanchez and Hipolito Hernandez of Uvalde; son, Roberto C. Sanchez of Uvalde; brothers, Juan Sanchez and wife, Lupe, Carlos Sanchez and wife, Esperanza, Ervey Sanchez, Sr. and wife, Angela, Estevan Sanchez and wife, Becky, Alfredo Sanchez and wife, Gloria, and Hector Sanchez all of Uvalde; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Naomi Mason, son in law, Thomas Mason; sister, Irma Sanchez; father-in-law, Antonio Zamora; stepson, Jesus Garza; and sister-in-law, Martha Elvira Zamora. 

Pallbearers will be Roger Soriano, Jamall Jones, Genaro Ramos, Thomas Robert Mason, Jr., and Hipolito Hernandez.
