Roberto Valdez

Roberto E. Valdez of Uvalde passed away on October 21, 2014 at Lifecare Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 70. He was born on March 3, 1944 in Remolino, Coahuila, Mexico to Domingo and Josefina Estrada Valdez. He married Antonia Reyna on October 6, 1984 in Uvalde. He is survived by his wife of 30 years daughters, Gracie Barrientos and husband Alonso, Maria Elena Esparza, Martha Ruiz and husband Alfredo, Olga Cardoza, Frances Gonzales all of Uvalde Queta Gonzales and husband Martin of Seguin, Norma Varela and husband Javier of Ft. Worth and Rose Mary Valdez of San Antonio sons, Jesus Esparza and wife Sylvia, David Esparza and wife Angie, Roberto Valdez Jr. and Santos Valdez and wife Anna all of Uvalde sisters, Elvira Montalvo of Lufkin, Gloria Barba, Elida Corpus and Juanita Galindo all of Eagle Pass, Victoria Ochao of San Juan, and Leticia Diaz of San Juan brothers, Domingo Valdez, Raul Valdez, Ricardo Valdez and Jesus Valdez all of Eagle Pass numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rodolfo Valdez. A rosary will be held on Thursday and Friday at 7:00 p.m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Chapa Jr., Julio Cesar Esparza, Martin Gonzales Jr., Tony Gonzales, Alfredo Ruiz Jr., Robert Ruiz, Jesus Esparza Jr., Joel Esparza, Santos Valdez and David Esparza.
