Rodolfo Cortez

Rodolfo Cortez of Uvalde passed away on July 10, 2016 at Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 63. He was born on April 1, 1953 in La Piedad, Michoacán, Mexico to Gonzalo Marin Cortez and Olivia Landeros. He married Angela Rodriguez Zamora in Michoagan, Mexico on May 25, 1974.
He is survived by his wife of Uvalde; father, of La Noria, Mexico; daughters, Yolanda Vaglienty and husband, Rudy of Houston, Lucy Rojas and husband, George of San Antonio, and Rosa Longoria of Houston; sons, Rodolfo Cortez, Jr, of Knippa, Rolando Cortez and wife, Imelda Sambrano, and Mark Anthony Cortez all of La Pryor; sisters, Elena Cortez, Blanca Cortez, Modesta Cortez and Socorro Cortez, all of La Piedad, Michoacán, Mexico; brothers, Gonzalo Cortez, Emilio Cortez, Nicholas Cortez all of La Piedad Michoacán, Mexico, Elias Cortez of Eagle Pass, Ramon Cortez of Phoenix, AZ, Angel Cortez Dallas, and Daniel Cortez of Knippa; grandchildren, Emily Cortez, Rodolfo Santiago Cortez III, Miley Cortez, Liliana Sofia Vaglienty, Lucia Olivia Vaglienty, Aaron Jace Munoz, Tristan Isaiah Munoz, Hailey Cheyenne Munoz, Victoria Anahi Longoria, Damian Longoria, Devin Lee Cortez, Roselyn Alexandra Cortez, Dominick Jace Cortez, Kerissa Paige Cortez, Natalie Faith Cortez and Jalen Faye Cortez.
He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Rafael Cortez.
A prayer service will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
