Rodolfo Uriegas

Rodolfo “Rolé”  Zepeda Uriegas, 88, entered the gates of heaven on Thursday, December 28, 2023 into our Lords loving arms and into the awaiting arms of his beloved Carmen, who was anxiously awaiting his presence.

He was born February 26, 1935 in Uvalde to Maximina (Zepeda) and Refugio Uriegas.

He was a US Army veteran, who served his country from 1958 thru 1960.

He married Carmen Ybarra in Uvalde on June 25, 1961.

He worked at The Department of Transportation for 37 years and later worked for Niños de Uvalde HeadStart part time for 2 years, until the birth of his first grandchild. That’s when he said, “See you later”!

He is survived by his daughter, Connie U. Varela and husband Jimmy of San Antonio; son, Rudy Uriegas Jr. and wife Paula of Castroville; three grandchildren Chistopher Varela wife Priscilla, Daniel Varela and Nathaniel Uriegas; sister, Elisa (Licha) Morales of San Antonio; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Carmen Y. Uriegas, parents, sister, Refugia (Cuca) Talavera and three brothers, Alfredo Uriegas, Roberto Uriegas and Juan Uriegas.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2023 from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, with a rosary at 7:00 pm. Wednesday, January 3, 2023 from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Uvalde Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will Chistopher Varela, Nathaniel Uriegas, Daniel Varela, Roland Sanchez, Ricky Morales and Joe Roy Terrazas.
