Roger Ellis Watkins of Uvalde passed away on February 8, 2018 in San Antonio at the age of 77. He was born on November 12, 1940 in Uvalde, Texas to Clyde O'Neil Watkins and Martha Thomas Rogers Weightman.
He graduated from Uvalde High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in Germany. He was employed in the livestock industry.
He is survived by his daughter, Shanna Coombs Graves and husband, Browder of Uvalde; grandchildren, Aaron Graves and Garrett Graves of Uvalde; sister, Martha (Molly) W. Hardesty of Waller; brothers, Harry O'Neal Watkins and wife, Joy and Beaumont Weightman Watkins and wife, Anna all of Uvalde; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Phoebe Beaumont Watkins Franklin.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philip's Episcopal Church.
Memorials may be made to St. Philip's Episcopal School in lieu of flowers.
