Roland Ortiz

Roland G. Ortiz of Uvalde passed away on December 16, 2017 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 62. He was born on February 28, 1955 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Mario and Olidia (Guajardo) Ortiz. He married Araceli ''Sally'' Ortiz in Uvalde on June 25, 1978.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years of Uvalde; sons, Sergio Rolando Ortiz of Round Rock, Brian Kevin Ortiz and wife, Leonela and Roland Edmundo Ortiz all of Uvalde; sister, Rosa Isela Ortiz of Uvalde; brothers, Pedro Guadalupe Ortiz, and Hector Raul Ortiz both of Uvalde, Simon Enrique Ortiz of McAllen, Jesse Ortiz of San Antonio, and Ricardo Ortiz of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Dakotalee Davis, Caine Christopher Lee Davis and Allisandra Lynn Lopez; step mother in law, Bertha Garza; and numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mario Ortiz.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
Pallbearers will be Arturo "Tuti" Juarez, Dianita Topete, Ricardo Ortiz Jr., Alejandro Ortiz, Christopher Ortiz, Josue "Bebe" Ortiz, Misti Rios, Mario Antonio Ortiz and Joe Gonzalez Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ralph Castillo, Anthony Estrada, Michael Longoria, Mike Torres, Willie Mills, Freddie Casarez and Joe Reyna.
