Roque Ortiz

Roque U. Ortiz of Uvalde passed away on November 8, 2013 in San Antonio at the age of 87. He was born in Concan on October 10, 1926 to Rafael and LadisladaUriegas Ortiz. He married Florencia Gonzalez in Hidalgo, Mexico in March 3, 1972. He is survived by his wife of 41 years daughters Veronica Ortiz and her husband Juan Riojas, Virginia Ortiz both of Uvalde, Raquel Olivares and her husband Oliverio of Houston, Linda Villareal of Illinois, Delia Gomez of San Antonio and Elia Rivera of Louisiana, sons Ruben Ortiz, Rene Ortiz, and Rudy Ortiz all of San Antonio, sister Julia Gonzales of San Antonio, numerous nieces and nephews, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sons, Rafael Ortiz and Richard Ortiz. A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday November 9th and 10th 2013 at 7:00 p.m at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Ortiz Esparza III, Justin Roque Esparza, Hector Talavera, Ralph Ortiz, Juan Riojas and Raul Gonzales.
