Rosa Martinez

Rosa Linda Martinez of Knippa passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 71.

Rosa was born on February 10, 1950 in Uvalde to Lazaro E. and Juanita (Perez) Hernandez.

She married Jose Luis Martinez on October 1, 1972 in Uvalde, Texas

Rosa is survived by her husband, Jose Luis Martinez of Knippa; daughter, Cipriana Ashley Martinez of San Antonio; three sons, Gabriel Porfirio Salcido of Phoenix, Arizona, Jose Rafael Martinez of San Antonio and Albert Julian Martinez of Knippa; six sisters, Christina Morales of Parker, Arizona, Juanita Rodriquez of Pocatello, Idaho, Lois Torres of Uvalde, Concepcion “Connie’ Broussard of Beaumont, Candelaria “Candy” Escorza of Parker, Arizona and Frances Hernandez of Dallas; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Porfirio Hernandez.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 starting at 12:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gabriel Porfirio Salcido, Jose Rafael Martinez, Albert Julian Martinez, Moses Torres, Daniel “Danny” Torres, Antonio Longoria and Jose Simon Escorza III.
