Rosa Maria Rendon, 66, of Uvalde died on November 9, 2022 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio.
She was born on December 17, 1955 in Raymondville, Texas to Anita (Salinas) and Zacarias Martinez.
She married Ricardo Rendon on June 8, 1974, in Uvalde.
She was a loving wife, amazing mother, proud grandmother, aunt, sister, educator, and friend. Rosa graduated from Uvalde High School in 1974 and went on to earn her teaching degree from Sul Ross State University. She had a passion for teaching, both at UCISD and Sacred Heart Catholic School. Rosa loved quilting and the holidays. She loved movies, kept a beautiful garden, and could do some damage in a store. But she was happiest surrounded by family. Rosa was a selfless soul with a pure heart who took care of everyone she met. There are no words to express how much she will be missed.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years of Uvalde; two daughters, Cristina Muñoz and husband, Alfonso and Rosanna Rendon all of San Marcos; two sons, Ricardo Rendon, Jr. and wife, Sonia of Harker Heights and Rodolfo Rendon and wife, Crystal of Olympia, Washington; nine grandchildren, Steven Rendon, Carina Rendon, Harrison Rendon, Anahi Rendon, Isabelle Rendon, Mireya Rendon, Jaxon Muñoz, Isabella Lara and David Lara; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Maria Carmen Cuevas and Maria de Estolia Najera; nine brothers, Antonio Martinez, Raul Martinez, Richard Martinez, Gilberto Martinez, Rodolfo Martinez, Jesse Martinez, Oscar Martinez, Johnny Martinez, and Elijio Martinez.
