Roy Flores

Roy Alvarado Flores, 64, of Uvalde, Texas passed away surrounded by his family on January 28, 2025, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. 

He was born on August 29, 1960, in Uvalde, Texas to Petra (Alvarado) and Santos C. Flores. 

He married Jo Ann Perez on November 24, 1980, in Uvalde, Texas. 

He is survived by his wife of 44 years of Uvalde; two sons, Roy Flores Jr and wife, Bernice of Andrews and Jared P. Flores and wife, Daniella of Uvalde; seven sisters, Beatrice Gutierrez of San Antonio, Anita Ybarra of Georgetown, Olga Martinez of Merkel, Rosa Rodriguez of Uvalde, Yolanda Garcia of San Antonio, Alicia Castillion of La Grange, and Rachel Rangel of Uvalde; two brothers, Ruben Flores of Uvalde and Bobby Flores of Ft. Worth; eight grandchildren, Brandon Flores, Ryan Flores, Emma Flores, Justin Flores, Darren Garcia, Loton Garcia, Jagger Garcia, and Ellowyn Flores. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Santos C. Flores Jr., Rudy Flores, and Ramiro Flores; sister, Odilia Cruz; and father in law and mother in law, Jose Angel Perez and Elva Perez

 Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, from 1p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary on both days at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. 

Pallbearers will be John Aviles, Jesse Garcia, Alejandro Lopez, Monolo Perez, Mike Flores, and Frank Cyprian.
