Ruben Gonzales

Ruben G. Gonzales of Uvalde passed away on March 9, 2018 in San Antonio at the age of 79. He was born on September 26, 1938 in Uvalde to Hilario and Ciria (Garcia) Gonzales.
After serving in the United States Army, he married Irma Caballero in Uvalde on May 16, 1965
He is survived by his wife of 52 years of Uvalde; daughters, Rosie Morales and husband, Ernest of Uvalde and Yesennia Reyes and husband, Jose of San Antonio; sisters, Rosalinda Martinez and Olivia Roman both of Uvalde; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Sergio Jose Reyes; and siblings, Hilario Gonzales, Jr., Sulema Gonzales and Oliver Gonzales.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ernest Morales, Jose Reyes, Justin Morales, Brett Jacobs, Louie Roman and Armando Gonzales.
