Ruth Detevis

Ruth Astrid DeTevis beloved wife and mother, of Uvalde passed away on July 22, 2010 at the age of 78. She was born on July 13, 1932 in Sweden to Simon and Astrid Nathell. She married Joseph DeTevis in Modesto, California on August 21, 1959. She is survived by her husband of 50 years daughter Jeanette Lucero and husband, Kirk of Bothell, Washington two sisters Birgitta Sandell and husband, Inge and Rakel Oster and husband, Bertil three brothers Erland, Hans and wife, Gun Britt, and Sven and wife, Gerd Nathell brotherinlaw Harry Sarstrom grandchildren Sam Anthony, Andrew Joseph, Kirsten, Katie, Patricia Joy, and Matthew Lucero five sisterinlaws Jane DeTevis, Marie DeTevis, Pita Lucero, Rose Sanchez, and Grucella Gallegos. She was preceded in death by her parents two brothers Rune and Bengt Nathell two sisters Anna Lisa Sarstrom and Mary Nathell. Cremation under the direction of RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. A memorial service will be held Thursday July 29, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Baptist Temple Church. Rev. Tony Gruben will be officiating.
