Ruth Surber

Ruth Moore Surber of Uvalde passed away on June 6, 2009 in Amistad Nursing Home in Uvalde, Texas at the age of 88. She was born on April 12, 1921 in Van Alstyne, Texas to I.H. and Sallie Moore. She is survived by her daughter; Sally Allen and husband Billy of Uvalde, Texas; son; Jim Surber and wife Patsy of Uvalde, Texas; brother; Tom Moore and wife Phyllis of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren Bill Surber, Stephanie Surber, and Casey Allen; four great grandchildren Faith Surber, Jordan Surber, Jeanneh Allen, and Chloe Allen; two nephews Henry Moore and Tom Moore Jr. and one niece Jane Hampton. She was preceded in death by her husband Clint W. Surber; parents; and brother; Ike Moore. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 10:00 AM in Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel in Uvalde, Texas with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Surber, Casey Allen, Jack Easley, George Franklin, Charlie Ham, and Roy Joe Howard. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to El Progresso Memorial Library, 301 W. Main St. Uvalde, Texas 78801 and Uvalde Hospice 1038-B Garner Field Rd., Uvalde, Texas 78801.
