Ruth Ann Morgan Yanelli, 71, of Uvalde, formerly of Del Rio and San Antonio, died May 4, 2015, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. She was born June 6, 1943, in Johnson City, Tenn., to Ruth Street and Ray Morgan. She married Albert M. Yanelli III, who preceded her in death in 2002, on Oct. 13, 1964.
Yanelli was a career educator, teaching English and language arts in San Felipe-Del Rio CISD, Uvalde CISD, Edgewood ISD, San Antonio ISD, Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville, Fla., the Gabriel Tafolla Charter School and most recently, Carrizo Springs CISD.
She was never happier than when she was teaching, spending time with family, (and her pets).
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
She is survived by sons Adam Morgan Yanelli and wife, Adora, of La Porte; Albert Michael Yanelli IV (Mickey) of Uvalde; Aaron Mitchell Yanelli and wife, Leigh Erin, of Richardson; Loren Sayer of Del Rio; Maria Montes Barnes and husband, David, of San Antonio; and Laura Jean Larremore and husband Brian, of Alpine; 10 grandchildren, Samantha Dawn Yanelli, Nicole Annette Yanelli, Morgan Ann Ruth Yanelli Bates and husband Zachary, Albert Michael Yanelli V, Ann Marie Yanelli, Madison Erin Yanelli, Samuel Aaron Yanelli, Andersen Erin Yanelli, Ellis Erin Yanelli, Harry Carroll, and 1 great-grandchild, MaKenzie Leigh Bates.
She is also survived by her cousin who she grew up with like a sister, Joyce Adams, of Oldfort, Tenn.
A graveside ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 11:00 am at Rio Frio Cemetery in Rio Frio, Texas.
