Salvador Martinez

Salvador H. Martinez of Uvalde, 91, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 11, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas.   He was born on June 18, 1927 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Ruperto and Carlota Martinez.  He married Maria Monsivais on February 12, 1976 in Eagle Pass, Texas.

He is survived by his sisters, Juanita Rodriguez of Arkansas , Margarita Gomez of California; daughters, Elvira Martinez of Eagle Pass, Carmen Palacio and husband, James of Rocksprings, Sylvia Moreno and husband, Juan of Uvalde, and Ana Escobar and husband, Ismael of Uvalde, sons, Rey David Jimenez of Piedras Negras, Mexico and Jesus Martinez and wife, Tasha of Eagle Pass; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Concepcion Martinez; sons, Luis Martinez and Guadalupe Martinez; and his beloved wife, Maria M. Martinez.

A prayer service will be held on Friday at 6:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jaime Martinez, Deomar Martinez, Jesus Martinez, Joshua Najera, Juan Pichardo, and Johnathan Pichardo.
