Sammye Romans

Sammye Movelda Romans of Uvalde passed at Amistad Nursing Home in Uvalde at the age of 86. She was born on December 2, 1925 in Las Vegas New Mexico to Samuel Edward and 8th of May Woody. She is survived by her sons, William Edward Romans of Seguin and Charles Hawk Romans of San Antonio, grandchildren, Cheryl Ramsey and husband Gary, Janean Goza and husband Ryan, and Darla Romans greatgrandchildren, Grayson Goza, Allison Bergeron and Breiten Ramsey. She is preceded in death by her parents sister, Jackie Kite and brothers, B.H. Woody and James Brice Woody. A rosary will be held on Friday July 6, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday July 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Gonzales, Billy Jones, Ronnie Martin, Jack Easley, Kenneth Haby and Roger Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Reynolds, Roger Roosa, Bill McWhorter, David Bessire and Tito Ritchie.
