Santos Cuellar

Santos Vara Cuellar of Uvalde passed away October 24, 2007 at his residence in Uvalde, Texas.

He was born August 6, 1920 in Uvalde, Texas to Julian Gabriela Cuellar.

He married Leonor Gonzales in El Paso, Texas on March 21, 1942.

Mr. Cuellar was raised in Uvalde and was owner of SL Wonder Wart and Catering Service. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Leonor G. Cuellar of Uvalde; daughters, Veronica C. Villarreal husband, Joe; Enriqueta C. Castro husband, Samuel; Leticia Cuellar Lopez; Gilda C. Lopez husband, Guadalupe, all of Uvalde; Vanessa C. Leal husband, David of Laredo, Texas; brother, Rodolfo V. Cuellar wife, Damiana of Uvalde; sisters in law, Guadalupe Cuellar; Francisca Martinez; Magdalena Canales; Lucia Ybarra; Dolores Gonzales; 21 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren 8 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jose Cuellar.

A rosary will be held on Thursday at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Fr. Wieslaw Iwaniec will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Michael Villarreal; Samuel C. Castro; Joe Anthony Lopez; Arnold Lopez; Guadalupe Lopez; Christopher Leal; Ben Lopez David Leal, Jr.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School.
