Santos G. Flores of Sabinal, TX was born on April 19, 1946 and departed this world on February 12, 2023 to meet her Lord and Savior in his kingdom of heaven. She was a beautiful and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed by all. She is survived by her husband, Manuel Flores, whom she was married to for over 56 years; her daughter Flori Espinosa and husband Danny of Helotes, TX; her son Jon Flores and spouse Jennifer of Temple, TX and her grandchildren: Alexander Edward Espinosa, Matthew Daniel Espinosa, Jade Marie Flores and Jalynn Mia Flores.
Santos spent much of her young childhood in Utopia, TX. Her family moved to Sabinal, when she was 13 years old. Manuel saw Santos walking home from school with her sisters and said “there is my wife”, it was love at first sight. Santos and Manuel were married on May 3, 1966 and they started their life together in El Paso, TX where Manuel was serving in the military. The next year, while Manuel was serving in Vietnam, Flor was born in Uvalde, TX. The next year came their son, Jon, who was born in El Paso, TX. The military led to much more travel together throughout the country and world while Manuel served in the Army, a career that lasted 42 years in which Santos was a great military spouse, making a home for the family wherever they were. Santos served in the Civil Service and retired after 20 years of service to be able to spend more time with her beloved grandchildren. She would travel to any place they were to spend precious time with them and to be able to celebrate many birthdays and holidays with them. Her grandchildren will remember those times always and know she had a very blessed and wonderful life being able to see so many places in the U.S. and countries throughout the world. She was able to go to Germany, France, Holland, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, England, Sweden, Korea and Israel. Among her many treasured travels she was especially blessed to travel throughout the Holy Land of Israel, Lourdes, France and Fatima, Portugal which were so meaningful to her strong catholic faith. Her name was very appropriate for her as she truly was an angel on earth.
Santos is survived by her six sisters, Helen Narvais and husband Tomas (deceased) of Saginaw, MI; Esperanza Leos and husband Ervey of Sabinal, TX; Consuelo Rodriguez and husband Rogelio of Sabinal, TX; Gabriela Rodriguez and husband Reynaldo (deceased) of Sabinal, TX; Mary Ann Flores and husband Robert of Sabinal, TX; Susan Musquez and husband Armando of Beeville, TX.
