Sara was born in Dallas, Texas. She resided in several places in Texas and Louisiana before settling with her family in Jackson, Mississippi. It was in Jackson that she met and married her high school sweetheart, Charley Fletcher Mills. Sara graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor's degree in interior design. Sara owned and managed several small business, including a catering business called Special Arrangements and a chain of Mexican restaurants under the Pedro's brand. Sara was active in the Jackson Children's Theater, both on-stage as an actress and behind the scenes, where she took part in directing and decorating the sets.
In 1979, Sara married George Donald Probasco and moved to Lubbock, Texas. It was here that she began her hobby of making beautiful stained glass artwork. In 1985, she and Don moved to Uvalde, Texas and opened a locksmith store called A-1 Lock and Key. Sara was an active member of the First Baptist Church and choir in Uvalde and was active in community theatre, among other local community organizations.
Following Don's death, Sara married G. W. Twilligear in 2012 and became an active member of the Frio Canyon Baptist church in G.W.'s home town of Leakey, Texas. She also participated in the church choir.
Sara was an accomplished author throughout her life, both as a columnist for publications such as the Locksmith Ledger and as publisher of several books, including "Service With a Smile."
Sara is survived by her husband, G.W. Twilligear; beloved son Steve, his wife Jan, their four children, Max, Amber, Noelle, and Charley; devoted daughter Brenda, her husband Gabriel, and their two loving sons Jacob and Peter; adoring brother Ewin Gaby.
Sara was preceded in death by her first husband Charley F. Mills, her grandson Stephen Lucas Prukop, and her beloved husband of 30 years, G. Donald Probasco.
Memorial service will be held at the Frio Canyon Baptist Church, located at 919 Hwy 83 South, Leakey, Texas. The service will begin at 11 AM on Saturday, May 9.
