Severina Ontiveros

Severina Rios Ontiveros of Uvalde passed away on January 26, 2022 at her residence at the age of 80. She was born on May 11, 1941 to Marcos Rios and Angela Hernandez in Villa de Fuente, Coahuila, Mexico.

She married Salvador Pablo Ontiveros on January 7, 1961 in Villa de Fuente, Coahuila, Mexico.

She is survived by her daughters, Angela Edilia Ontiveros and Ana Maria Thomas and husband, Arthur all of Uvalde, Texas; son, Salvador Pablo Ontiveros, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Juanita Hernandez, Catalina Montalvo, both of San Antonio, Texas, Teresa Salinas of Chicago, Illinois, Angela Chavez, Guadalupe Torres and Norma Rios all of Eagle Pass, Texas; brothers, Gregorio Rios of Eagle Pass, Texas and Marcos Rios of San Antonio, Texas; 4 grandchildren; Arthur Thomas II and wife, Dana, Christina Marie Thomas, Christopher Stephen Thomas and wife, Jennifer, and Catherine Vivian Thomas; 3 great-grandchildren, Michael Arthur Thomas, Nathan Anthony Thomas and Laura Christine Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Marcos Rios and Angela Hernandez, and husband, Salvador Pablo Ontiveros.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Salvador Pablo Ontiveros, Jr., Arthur Thomas, Arthur Thomas II, Christopher Stephen Thomas, Rick Torres.and Jorgito Chavez.
