Sharon Hubble

October 14, 1949 — May 8, 2018

Sharon Elizabeth Hubble was born on October 14, 1949 to Thomas Lewis Hubble and Marion Spangler Hubble in Uvalde, TX. Sharon passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in Uvalde after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Sharon is survived by her son, Paul Earl Stewart and wife, Missy Stewart; granddaughter, Kaitlin Stewart, great-grandsons, Ryan and Abram of Montell, TX; granddaughter, Cheyenne Hale and family of Uvalde; granddaughter, Kara Whittenburg and family of Camp Wood; and grandson, Dustin Whittenburg of Mesa, AZ. Sharon is also survived by her father, Thomas Hubble, Sr. of Bandera, TX and her siblings, Ann Wade of Houston, TX, Tom Hubble, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Kingsland, TX, Gary Lynn Hubble of Carrizo Springs, TX, and Denise McClendon and husband, Mark of Boerne, TX. Sharon had numerous nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Sharon dearly, David Wade, Jr., Jamie Locander, Jon Bell, Brittany Bell, Kara McClendon, Kirk Hubble, Kamara Wittner, Jeremy Hubble, Travis Hubble, Madison Hubble, Meredith Hubble, and ten great nieces and nephews. Sharon attended and graduated in 1967 from United High School in Laredo, TX. The many friendships she made over the years she remained in close contact with, a lot through social media. Sharon served as a Regent, Officer and Member of the DAR Chapter in Uvalde for many years and was so proud of the chapter, its members and accomplishments. After 40 years of working for the Federal Government, she retired in 2017 from the Department of Homeland Security/Border Patrol in Uvalde, TX. Sharon loved and considered all of the Border Patrol agents and their families as her own. The love and care they showed her during her illness proved the love was mutual. She knew she could always count on them and they always came through for her. At Sharon's retirement party, she said that she was not ready for retirement, but the Man upstairs said she was. Sharon's love for God and Country was real. Her patriotism for the Red White and Blue was well known by all. Sharon had been holding Jesus's hand for so long, she finally took her walk home where she was welcomed by our Mom and other family members and friends. A celebration of Sharon's life will be on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philip's Episcopal Church located at 343 N. Getty St., Uvalde, TX. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society, Wounded Warriors Project, or a charity of your choice.
