Silvestre Aviles

Silvestre G. Aviles of Uvalde passed away on October 31, 2018 in Uvalde at the age of 82. He was born on December 29, 1935 in San Antonio to Julian and Maria (Gutierrez) Aviles.
He is survived by his three daughters, Terry Ortiz and husband, Marcos of Camp Wood, Sylvia Aviles of Uvalde, and Rosie Gonzalez and husband, Adrian of Uvalde; two sons, Jesse Aviles and wife, Christy Ramos and Jimmy Aviles, all of Uvalde; brothers, Elias G. Aviles, Rogelio G. Aviles and Alfonso G. Aviles all of Uvalde; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lupe Aviles, and his parents.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Uvalde Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Aviles Castoreno, Filomeno Aviles, Adrian Gonzalez, Jr., Angel Gonzalez, Adrian Gonzalez, Andrew Gonzalez, and Adriel Gonzalez.
