Simon Flores

Simon Lopez Flores Jr. of Uvalde passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 in San Antonio at the age of 81.

Simon was born on May 19, 1938 in Uvalde to Simon L. and Rosa (Lopez) Flores.  He was a Navy Veteran.  Simon married Mary Helen Aguirre in Uvalde.

He is survived by four sons, Simon L. Flores III and wife Regina of Fontana, California, Santos Flores and wife Andrea of Marino Valley, California, Sidney Flores and wife Michelle of West Covina, California and Michael Flores and partner Gina Aguas of Uvalde; two sisters, Rose Ann Musquiz and husband Rodolfo of San Antonio and Gloria Gonzales of Northville, MI; nineteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Simon was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two sisters, Juanita Ramirez and Ignacia Flores.

A rosary will be held on Monday, July 8 and Tuesday, July 9 2019 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 10:00 am. Interment will be on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 10:00 am Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio with Military Honors.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Musquiz, Eric Musquiz, Philip Call, Patricio Flores, Mario Ortiz III and Justin De Hoyos.  Honorary pallbearers are Abel Morales and Jake Garcia.
