Siria Ruiz

Siria Z. Ruiz of Uvalde passed away on June 2, 2017 at the St. Luke's Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. She was born July 9, 1934 to Felix Zavala and Luciana Mora. She married Geromino Ruiz on January 8, 1950 in San Isidro.
Mrs. Ruiz is survived by her daughters, Dora Villanueva and husband, Juan and Rosa Rodriguez all of Uvalde; sons, Geromino Ruiz Jr. and wife, Guadalupe, Juan Manuel Ruiz and wife, Victoria, Felix Ruiz and wife, Olga, Alfredo Ruiz and wife, Martha and Sergio Ruiz and wife, Frances all of Uvalde; sisters, Francisca Gonzales of Uvalde, Virginia Leija of Sabinal and Consuelo Cortez of Pierdas Negras; brother, Seferino Zavala of Eagle Pass and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Gloria Ruiz; son, Juanito Ruiz; two sisters, Maria Lugo and Josefina Cortez; and three brothers, Martin Zavala, Fidel Zavala and Santos Zavala.
A prayer service will be held on Saturday at 6:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel at 11:00 am followed by interment at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
