Socorro Castillo

Socorro Leal Castillo of Uvalde, Texas passed away on March 15, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 94. She was born on May 2, 1926 in Comonfort, Guanajuato, Mexico to Anselma (Velasquez) and Mateo Leal.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria Elena Padilla of San Antonio, Texas; son, Rolando Castillo and wife Lenora of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Roselia Gonzales of Uvalde, Texas, Grace Angeles and husband Luis of Uvalde, Texas, and Josefa Sanchez of Uvalde, Texas; five grandchildren, Marco A. Padilla of Las Vegas Nevada, Ruben A. Rendon and wife Brenda of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jose R. Rendon of Corpus Christi, Texas, Melissa A. Padilla Wegner of Houston, Texas, and Teresa Rendon and husband C.D. Jones of San Antonio, Texas; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Anselma (Velasquez) and Mateo Leal; brothers Ernesto Leal, Refugio Leal, and Pablo Leal; sisters, Mariana Moreno, Gloria Looney, Teresa Rodriques, and Alicia Leal; daughters, Alicia Rendon and Frances Castillo; and son-in-law, Frank Padilla.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 1:00 PM followed by a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM.

Funeral Service will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 10:00 AM with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
