Sophie Falkenberg

Sophie Cecelia Falkenberg of Knippa passed away on February 1, 2010 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 86. She was born on January 28, 1924 in San Antonio, TX to Oscar and Pauline Gerlich Mergele. She married Erich Falkenberg in Knippa on June 28, 1941. He preceded her in death in 2003. She is survived by two sons, Leland Falkenberg and wife, Janice and Dean Falkenberg, all of Knippa four grandchildren, Chad, Nyland, and Shollie Falkenberg and Chesca Newman and three greatgrandchildren, Lane Falkenberg Nathan Newman and Caleb Newman. She was preceded in death by a son, Eddie William Falkenberg. A rosary will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2010, at 7:00 PM at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 5, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde with burial to follow in the Knippa Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nyland Falkenberg Chad Falkenberg Raymond Rohlf Ernest Mergele Joe Sowa and Jack Molloy. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Attaway Albert Mikalski Erwin Mergele Rodney Reagan Andy Anderson Jimmie Yaklin Dr. Jamil Bitar and Joe Martinez.
