Sulema M Arredondo

Sulema M. Arredondo of Uvalde passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her mom’s residence on Saturday, August 26,2023. She was born March 7, 1954, to Juan and Genoveva (De Hoyos) Morales. She was married to Raul Arredondo for 44 years.

She is survived by her husband, Raul, of Uvalde, daughter, Marisa Arredondo-Wang and husband Benjamin of Austin, granddaughter, Luna Xin-Yi of Austin, mother, Genoveva Morales of Uvalde, sisters, Cynthia Rios and husband Xavier, Lucila Morales, Sonia Carmona and husband Frank, Yvonne Ramirez and partner Enrique Canales all of Uvalde, Annette Arce and husband Antonio of Laredo, Junice Kirkpatrick and husband Tommy Loest of Victoria, brothers, Daniel Morales and wife Maryann of San Antonio, Roberto Morales and wife Connie of Uvalde and Rev. Eduardo Morales of San Antonio, brothers-in-law, Ruben Arredondo of Uvalde and Bobby Arredondo of El Paso, sister-in-law, Graciela Fuentes of Laredo, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Morales, sister, Michelle Contreras, nephew, Xavier Jai Rios, father and mother-in laws, Gilberto and Jesusita Arredondo, brother-in-law Gilberto Arredondo Jr.  

Visitation for Sulema will start on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.  A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert J. Morales, Michael Contreras, Daniel Morales Jr., Tres Arce, Jaime Fuentes, Trey Zamora, Matthew Contreras, and Aldo Avila. Honorary Pallbearer Austin Avila.
