Sylvia Wood

Sylvia Nelle Wood of Uvalde passed away on January 5, 2009 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 74. She was born on September 15, 1934 in Crystal City, TX to John Raymond and Willa Aleta Taylor White. She married Alvise Carlton Wood in Corpus Christi, TX on February 15, 1952. He preceded her in death in 1993. She is survived by three sons, Carlton David Wood and wife, Charlie of Knippa; Stephen Lee Wood and wife, Kendra Lee of Uvalde; and Charles Dean Wood and wife, Sherry Lynn of Camp Wood, TX; three sisters, Sharon Fell and husband, Darrel of Fredericksburg; Judy Gunnels and husband, Robert of Boerne; and Elisabeth Schaefer and husband, Richard of Fredericksburg; three brothers, Robert Keith White and wife, Bonnie of Kerrville; Donald Glenn White and wife, Theresa of Mount Pleasant; and John Leslie White of Dripping Springs, TX; 12 grandchildren, Stephen Lee Wood, Jr. and wife, Amy; Justin Neal Wood; Ginger Wood; Rebecca Wood; Bridget A.Gillen; David Gregory Wood; Leslie Aaron Wood; Nathan A.Wood; John L. Wood; Tracy L. Wood; Alvise C. Wood; and Christine Wood; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, David Raymond White and Jerry Ronald White. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009, at 11:00 AM in Hillcrest Cemetery. Bro. Don White will officiate. Pallbearers will be Robert Keith White; John Leslie White; Charles D. Wood; John L. Wood; David G. Wood; and Leslie A. Wood.
