Terrie Wilson

Terrie Denise (Coleman) Wilson, of Uvalde, passed away on Thursday, September 28th, 2023. She was born on February 26^th, 1960 in San Antonio to Robert and Betty Coleman.

She married Kyle Wilson on May 22, 1982 in Uvalde. She graduated from Uvalde High School in 1978 and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Southwest Texas State University in 1981 and her Master of Education from Sul Ross State University in 1997.

Terrie worked as a newspaper journalist, a junior high English teacher and a British Literature and Journalism instructor at SWTJC, where she also led the Journalism Department. She was a member of the Uvalde Methodist Church. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who loved her two sons, two daughter-in-laws, grandson, her dogs and granddogs.

Terrie is survived by her parents Robert and Betty Coleman of Uvalde, mother-in-law Mona Wilson of Pearsall, husband Kyle Wilson, son Trey Wilson and wife Hannah of Goodlettsville, TN, son Tyler Wilson and wife Lacey of Kingsland, TX, sister Deborah (Debbie) McDonald and husband Glenn of Uvalde, grandson John Walker Wilson of Goodlettsville, TN and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Wilbur Wilson of Pearsall.

Visitation will be held for family and friends on Saturday, September 30^th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Uvalde. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 1^st at Uvalde Methodist Church (301 N High) at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Yancey Cemetery in Yancey, TX at 4:00pm.

Pallbearers will be Trey Wilson, Tyler Wilson, Mike Wilson, Bryan Wilson, Glenn McDonald and McClain McDonald.

Honorary pallbearer will be John Walker Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Briscoe Animal Resource Center in Uvalde, TX.
