Mr. Tomas Melchor of Uvalde passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at his residence at the age of 90.
He was born on January 29, 1931 in Big Bend, Texas to Felix and Eluteria (Espino) Melchor.
Tomas married Rosa Licon on March 29, 1949 in Campo, Coahuila, Mexico.
He is survived by three daughters; Alma Perez and husband Gustavo of Uvalde, Oralia Rodriguez and husband Refugio of Jacksonville, Texas and Juanita Villa and husband Carlos of Uvalde; four sons, Jose Melchor and wife Maria, Tomas Melchor Jr. and wife Sandra, Jesus Melchor and wife Artemisa and Miguel Melchor and wife Dora all of Uvalde; two brothers, Isabel Melchor of Monterrey, Mexico and Felix Melchor Jr. of Monclova, Mexico; 27 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Maria Melchor and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tomas was preceded in death by his wife, son, Paulino Melchor, parents, grandson, Luis Melchor, sister, Faustina Melchor and three brothers, Benito Melchor, Catarino Melchor and Antonio Melchor.
Visitation for Mr. Melchor will begin on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Gustavo Perez Jr., Fabian Perez, Raymundo Melchor, Abraham Melchor, Joshua Melchor, Juan Antonio Melchor and Jose Ignacio Melchor Jr.
