Tommy Frankie Mariscal of Uvalde passed away on August 18, 2020 at Kindred Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 69. He was born on June 21, 1951 in Tempe, Arizona to Jacinto Mariscal and Mary Martinez.
He married the love of his life, Sylvia Ann Gonzales in Mexico on April 15, 1969.
Frankie was a mechanic by trade. He and his son Tommy enjoyed restoring and working on cars. Sylvia Ann and Frankie were usually seen together at dances, parties and many other events. Frankie was a family man who enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and great- grandchildren who affectionately called him Papo. He had a way with children. Frankie loved his sisters and brothers who even though they were miles apart they kept in close contact with each other. He especially loved his 52 pick-up truck which won him numerous trophies. Frankie was a member of the O.G.'s Car club which he enjoyed very much. Frankie was very well known to make the best barbecue brisket, which was enjoyed by many. Frankie was a special man who was filled with smiles and who will always remain in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years of Uvalde; 1 daughter that was his princess, Geneva Camacho and husband, Juan of San Antonio; 2 sons, Tommy Mariscal, Jr. and Gabriel Mariscal and wife, Kasey all of Uvalde; sisters, Olivia “Fannie” Price, Susan “Dollie” Mariscal both of Mesa, Arizona, Mary Ann Venezuela, Peggy Cobarubio both of Tempe, Arizona, Norma Mariscal of Uvalde, and Irene Mariscal of San Antonio; brothers, Jacinto Mariscal, Jr. of Brawley, California, Jose Alfredo Mariscal of Tempe, Arizona, Ralph Gamboa, Jr. of both of Tempe, Arizona, Tony Gamboa of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jacob Mariscal and Norman Mariscal both of Uvalde; other siblings, Irma Mariscal, Enrique Mariscal, Enriqueta Mariscal, Ida Mariscal, and Michael Mariscal all of Texas; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margarita Gamboa.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 12: 00 p.m. followed by a rosary 6:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
