Troy Norman

Troy Kenneth Norman, born July 13, 1942 to Troy Allen Norman and Mary Lila Pierce, departed this life on July 27, 2018 with his loving wife Dena Marie Taylor by his side. He is survived by wife, Dena; children Veronica Norman Sullivan (Joseph), Lydia Denise Norman, Brian Shane Norman (Anne), and stepson Taylor Simon; grandchildren Kenneth Bradley Sullivan (Carolyn), James Matthew Sullivan, Mary Lila Norman, Christopher Ryan Davis (Michelle), Brent Colby Davis (Krystle), Jeffrey Pierce Norman, and Brian Kenneth Norman,10 great-grandchildren and his baby dog Texas Pete. Troy was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia Ann Lunday, and sisters Arweita Sue & Arneita Ann.

Before his retirement Troy was a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, a massage therapist, and owner of a construction company.

Troy loved his family and enjoyed traveling with Dena. As a husband he was wholly dedicated to Dena's happiness, and can never be replaced. He was a man with uncommon character and resolve. He faced every situation with steadfast courage. He was a pillar of strength. He was a life-long learner and enjoyed history, museums, & documentaries.

Troy ultimately found tremendous joy at the home he shared with Dena on the Frio Cielo Ranch which became a frequent gathering place for family and friends. There he enjoyed the river, the wildlife and the tranquility of the area. He could frequently be found cooking in the outdoor kitchen.

Troy was loved by all and his passing has left a hole in many hearts.

Donations may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.

A memorial open house will be held at 308 River Road in Frio Cielo Ranch, Uvalde, Texas on August 4, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
