Valentina Gutierrez

Valentina Alamillo Gutierrez of Uvalde passed away on February 3, 2009 in her residence at the age of 89. She was born on February 14, 1919 in Pearson, Texas to Elogio and Alcadia Alamillo. She is survived by two daughters; Yolanda Ortiz of Uvalde, Texas and Pura Rios of Bryan, Texas; five sons; Ernesto, Jesse, Sostenes Jr., Mario and Armando Gutierrez all of Uvalde, Texas; thirty-two grandchildren; sixty-two great grandchildren; and three great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Sostenes Gutierrez Sr.; two brothers; Dario Negrete Jr., and Guadalupe Negrete; one son-in-law; Mario Ortiz Jr.. A rosary will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be on Friday, February 6, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons; Ernesto Gutierrez Jr., Anthony Gutierrez, Jesse A. Gutierrez, Chris Gutierrez, Mario Gutierrez Jr., and Frank Mireles Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Isabela Gutierrez.
