Ventura Luna

Ventura L. Luna, Sr. of Uvalde passed away on January 5, 2008 in San Antonio at the age of 85. He was born on July 14, 1922 in San Benito, Texas to Gilberto and Jacinta Luna. He is survived by a daughter, Maria Edelina Chapa and husband, Enrique of Uvalde; three sons, Jose Luna and wife, Benita of Uvalde; Ventura Luna, Jr. and wife, Luz Alicia of Chicago, IL; and Jose Ramon Luna and wife, Diamantina of Laredo, TX; sister, Eufemia Rios of Andrews, TX; brother, Cerlido Luna of and Juan Luna of Batesville; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Adelaida Luna; parents; and four brothers, Domingo, Ciriaco, Isaac, and Guadalupe Luna. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 8,2008 at 12:00 noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Batesville Cemetery. Fr. Anthony Mendoza will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jose Luna Jr.; Jimmie Luna, Judas Luna, Gilbert Luna, Albert Luna, Enrique Chapa Jr., and Ventura Chapa.
