Victor Manuel Rivas

Victor Manuel Rivas, 68, of Uvalde passed away on August 3, 2024, at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital in San Antonio.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 2 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. 

He was born on September 28, 1955, in Sabinas, Mexico to Margarita (Gonzalez) and Reynaldo Rivas. 

He is survived by his wife, Maria Elsa (Diaz) Rivas of Uvalde; four daughters, Patricia Valdez and husband, Ben of Sabinal, Esmeralda Reyes and husband, Carlos of Uvalde, Michelle Rivas of Uvalde, and Mari Rivas and husband, Marc Esquibel of Natalia; son, Victor Rivas, Jr. and wife, Janie of Uvalde; two sisters, Laura Obregon and Blanca Zapata both of Uvalde; 14 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Fernando Rivas and sister, Margarita Flores.
