Victoriano Guzman Sr.

Victoriano Garcia Guzman Sr. of Uvalde passed away on August 8, 2011 at Main Methodist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 79. He was born on June 15, 1932 to Eusebio and Ester Garcia Guzman in McAllen, Texas. He married Julia Torres on January 28, 1951 in Uvalde. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, daughter, Edna Bermea and husband Arturo of Uvalde, son, Victoriano T. Guzman Jr. and wife Sandra of Uvalde, brothers Santiago Guzman and wife Mercedes, Jose Guzman and wife Olga, Enrique Guzman and wife Manuela all of Uvalde, Lupe Guzman and wife Virginia of Hobbs, New Mexico, Raymond Guzman and wife Shannon of Wichita Falls, Texas, grandchildren Bernadette Ariceaga, Chris Bermea, Chasity N. Guzman, Victoria M. Guzman, Victoriano T. Guzman III, Yvette Flores, Rosalinda Silva and Alieta Perez, 12 greatgrandchildren, motherinlaw Antonia Torres and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Noelia Perez, brother, Juan Guzman, grandson Arturo Bermea Jr., fatherinlaw, Eutemio Torres, brother in law, Horacio Moreno and sister in law Erica Torres. A rosary will be held on Thursday August 11, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Funeral mass will be on Friday August 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Moreno, Hector Moreno, Raymond Torres, Christopher Bermea, Arturo Guzman and Johnny Guzman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Daniel Alvarez and Yvette Perez Flores.
