Wanda Brown of Uvalde passed away Saturday July 21, 2018, at her home at the age of 78.
Wanda was born May 15, 1940 in Denver City, Yoakum County, Texas to H. T. Jr. and Wynema Estelle Mobley Taylor, their first born child. Wanda married J. D. "Dutch" Brown in Paducah, Texas on February 1, 1958. Dutch preceded her in death January 2, 2014. They were married for 55 wonderful years.
Wanda attended Del Rio Beauty College and graduated November 30, 1968. She loved being a beautician working at salons in Uvalde. She owned and operated her own salon, Wanda's Beauty Salon" from 1982 until retiring in 2013.
Wanda is survived by one son Doyle "Buddy" Brown; one daughter Doyleen "Cissy" Routh and husband Roy; three grandson Roy L Routh Jr and wife Katherine; Rusty Routh and fiancée Elsie Garcia; and Dusty Routh and wife Sarah; three great grandsons Cauy Routh, Cole Routh and Cody Routh all of Uvalde. One brother Wayne Taylor and wife Ruby of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters Elizabeth Foreman of Mineral Wells, Texas and Betty Moisant and husband Clead of Mid-West City, Oklahoma. Brother-in-law Sterling Brown of Bandera; three sisters-in-law Beckie Brown of Kerrville, Vivian Jones and Judy Brown of Uvalde; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, one brother William Taylor and one brother-in-law Ronnie Brown.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons, Roy Jr., Rusty, Dusty, Cauy, Cole and Cody Routh.
Honorary Pallbearers are the nurses, aides, doctors and staff of Uvalde Hospice. We would have been lost without their help.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
